Energy Saving:

Replacing your existing 40w, 60w or 100w light bulbs can save £££'s over a year. Replacing a standard 60w light bulb with a Low Energy 11w gives the same power output for a fraction of the cost.

Hot Water Tank:

Does your hot water tank have a jacket? Lagging your hot water tank will save around £40 per year on your heating & running costs. A typical lagging/jacket will only cost around £12.00

Lagging your pipes:

Another simple and cost effective idea that can usually be done for a few £££'s. It also helps protect your pipes during winter when they are most vulnerable to frost.

Outdoor lighting:

Outdoor lighting can really transform your outside space giving it a completely new look and feel. Traditional electric lighting can be costly and often needs a qualified electrician to connect up, using solar lighting costs nothing to run and in many cases is cheaper than electric hard wired lighting.

Solar lighting is also portable so can easily be changed to give maximum effect.

Loft Insulation:

If you currently don't have loft insulation and fit the recommended 270mm depth, you could save around £150 per year on heating bills and reduce CO2 emissions by around 1 tonne per year.

Insulating your loft used to be expensive, now a typical house  can be insulated for around £150-£200 plus fitting. For an average household the cost of insulating a loft should be recouped in 3 years, and your home will also feel warmer over the winter months.

These are just a few cost effective ways to help your running costs and help the environment at the same time.
